1200 Dead vs. Nicollette Sheridan

It has been a sickening week or so in Iraq. Of course, while the miserable failure waited to commence the assault on Fallujah until after the election, the prime targets of the venture no doubt slipped out of the "insurgent stronghold."

That's 1200 dead American military personnel as a result of Bush's Folly. Yes, I guess he'd rather our citizens died overseas than on our shores. I wonder when the Republican bastards in Congress will draft legislation for the purposes of exporting U.S. citizens to the Middle East... to avoid bloodshed here at home.

George Bush: our "moral values" president.

Moral outrage, however, is being expressed about a commercial that preceded last night's Monday Night Football game on ABC...

ABC Sports was apologizing Tuesday over a filmed bit on Monday Night Football in which Sheridan, as her vampy Desperate Housewives character, removed a towel and showed off her assets to Philadelphia Eagles star Terrell Owens in the locker room.

The segment, aired at the beginning of the broadcast seen at 9 p.m. on the East Coast, and even earlier in other time zones, closed with the ostensibly naked Sheridan leaping into Owens' arms, and the ostensibly distracted Owens vowing to sit out the game. ("Aw, hell, the team's going to have to win without me," said a thespian-challenged Owens.)

Unlike Jackson, whose wardrobe malfunction prompted a Super Bowl-sized controversy, Sheridan didn't flash the camera -- only her bare back was shown on screen. But enough flesh was bared to leave ABC red-faced.

What the FUCK does this country value?

Apparently not human life (unless of course, it's human life by the most far-reaching of definitions). It can't be education... The results of November 2 illustrate that pretty clearly.

You know, I really, honestly believe that we love being the stupidest fucking country on the planet. I think we revel in it (scroll down to forum). We go to war for the sake of proving it to the rest of the world.

Hell, here's more proof! (Hmmm... that link seems to be temporarily dead. It's a site created as a matter of answering this one. Lots of gun-toting, red-necky people proud of having elected the miserable failure.)

Age of enlightenment MY ASS!
